Project Name: GSK Pudong Development Project
Location: Shanghai, China
Client: GSK (Glaxo Smith Klein)
Architect: SKM S2F
Year Designed: 2012
Corporate identity for this pharmaceutical research and development facility was the client’s primary goal. In order to unify the building and landscape architectural elements are translated into the landscape. The ‘fins’ carry through the paving pattern at the drop off area and then pop up at the grade change in the center planting area and adjacent to the pedestrian ways. Within these fins a low maintenance bed of colored glass mulch is set, coordinating with the GSK logo and signage. A bamboo planting softens the façade of the building through its phenomenal qualities of light and sound.
